Sunday Setlist

Let the Praises Ring-C (Brewster)
Angels From the Realms of Glory-A
Everlasting God- (Tomlinish)
Marvelous Light-A (Hall)

Jesus Paid it All-B (Passion)

We almost canceled rehearsal this week but from how tired we seemed Sunday morning after Christmas I am so glad we came in with a good sense of where the worship set was going...Steph did a great job transitioning into the first hymn by sharing about the invitation each verse to come worship Christ...we then went right into the chorus of "Everlasting God" and finished that song taking a moment to pray the verse asking for God's strength as we wait on Him...

Pastor Matt's message was a good close to 2010 in that it put the emphasis on God and His plans no matter our circumstances and no matter what is to come in the new year...excited to see what God has for the worship ministry this coming next year!...

Sunday Setlist

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION

Ensemble Prelude- O Come O Come Emanuel
Come Thou Long Expected Jesus
Joy to the World Verse intro

Joy to the World- C with choir
O Come All Ye Faithful- F
Glory in the Highest- A with Christmas verse

Advent Candle with Dance

O Holy Night- A
Unspeakable Joy- A/B

I was so blessed by the amount of people who joined in to help serve to make a great weekend of worship and celebration...the choir did an amazing job leading with their hearts, the new addition of the brass brought an exciting introduction to the service...and it was very fitting that we celebrated through "Joy to the World" to begin and end the services...

Van's message on "Living in the Gap" brought a reality to Christmas and for the need for the birth of Jesus, and coming out of which we sang out the powerful words to "O Holy Night"..."long lay the world in sin and error pining, till He appeared and the soul felt its worth..."

Overall, I was very thankful for the attitudes of those who stepped up to lead by serving and giving...it's always a reminder for me that Jesus is in our midst when I see people surrender and love one another- which is not an easy thing, but it's so amazing!...thanks to all who were a part of the weekend!

Sunday Setlist

KIDS MUSICAL

Hallelujah Your Love is Amazing- G-A (Baloche)
Fall on Us Now- A (Vineyard)
Glory in the Highest- A (Tomlin)
ADVENT
Hark the Herald Angels Sing- E (Wesley)

It was a packed stage with the set ready for the Kids Christmas Musical, but I was very impressed with the sound and tech team who championed getting everyone and everything where they needed to be...

Pastor Van helped lead the first two songs, and it was a great opportunity to share in our friendship- as well as for me to enjoy his heart for worship...I was very impressed with how the team really followed and listened well to where we needed to go musically...

"Glory in the Highest" created a feel in the middle of the set to sing out what the angels proclaimed over the birth of Christ...for the Advent candle, we joined in a responsive reading that partnered psalms that focus on joy and between which the church said together "The Joy of the Lord is our Strength"...and to transition to the kids play we sang the familiar Christmas hymn "Hark the Herald Angels Sing"...

Sunday Setlist

Joy to the World Unspeakable Joy- A-B (Tomlin
Sweetly Broken- B (Riddle)
Desert Song- D (Hillsong)
ADVENT
Unchanging- E (Tomlin)
Sing to the King- E (Jesus Culturish)

"Unspeakable Joy" was difficult to find a good key- A was low during the verses but B caused the added chorus to jump up high- even still it brought great energy to the beginning of the morning...

There was a great theme from the first song going into "Sweetly Broken" that also expresses how before God we are at a "loss for words" when we see His beauty and glory...I was amazed hearing how "Desert Song" has really become a great prayer for our church...that took us right to a time of silence for the Peace Candle lighting...

We transitioned out of silence just vocally singing the chorus to "Unchanging"...and there was once again great energy at the end with "Sing to the King"...Pat on media picked out the Revelation 3 verse to put up on the screen during the intro, and I was blessed when one of our elders shared how that connected with him during worship...I love how the body comes together like that to serve one another...finally we ended with just voices singing..."For He Alone is Worthy- Christ the Lord"...

Tonight our brass ensemble had their first rehearsal, and there was great excitement building as they got ready to ring out in Christmas celebration!...
